Halmstads BK face AIK Stockholm at Orjans Vall in a key Allsvenskan match on Sunday. The team is coming off two consecutive away defeats and needs points to climb the table.

Halmstad sit 16th with 11 points from 21 games. They have lost their last two matches, against IFK Göteborg and Degerfors IF, after winning two of the previous three. At home at Orjans Vall, however, the team has shown more strength, with a 1-0 win over Kalmar FF at the end of August.

AIK Stockholm arrive in Halland following a 1-1 draw with Mjällby AIF. The Stockholm side are seventh in the league and have mixed recent form with two wins, two draws and one loss in their last five games. In the most recent meeting between the sides in April, AIK won 2-1.

The manager has a stable squad to choose from. In the loss to Göteborg, Halmstad started with Rönning in goal, with a defensive line of Boman, Gregor, Wallentin and Kaib. The midfield and attack featured Tõugjas, Trybull, Arvidsson, Ascone, Carneil and Zeljkovic. Rocco Ascone scored the team's goal from the penalty spot in that match.

The current league standings also show the tough challenge ahead.

The match at Orjans Vall kicks off at 14:00 on Sunday, 20 September.
