Halmstads BK play a friendly match against Östers IF on Tuesday. The team enters the fixture on a two-game winning streak, having beaten AIK Stockholm 2-1 at home last weekend.

The club currently sits 16th in Allsvenskan with 14 points from 22 games. Recent form is positive, however, with three wins from the last five matches. The winning run started with a 1-0 victory over Kalmar FF and continued with a 2-1 win against Skövde AIK. The two defeats came away to IFK Göteborg and Degerfors IF.

Lineup against AIK

In the recent win over AIK, Halmstad started in a 4-4-2 formation. Goalkeeper T. Rönning was protected by a back four of A. Boman, P. Gregor, G. Wallentin and R. Kaib. The midfield consisted of L. Arvidsson, J. Allansson, N. Mäenpää and H. Carneil, with the strike partnership of A. Zeljkovic and O. Faraj. Faraj opened the scoring in that match.

Östers IF are coming off a 1-3 home loss to IFK Norrköping. Their last starting lineup was a 4-3-3 with C. Lundahl Persson in goal and attackers including O. Uddenäs and K. Jawla. The friendly gives Halmstad a chance to test tactical ideas and rotation options ahead of the tough away league fixture against IF Elfsborg on October 11th. Elfsborg are fourth in the table, making it a key league match.
