Halmstads BK has presented Josep Clotet Ruiz as the new manager. Ruiz, who previously was a coach for Malmö FF, has signed with HBK. He says that the project in Halmstad is more appealing than being in the Champions League. Ruiz is given a manager role with total responsibility and will build something he believes in. He is responsible for both traditional coaching tasks, as well as player recruitment and coach training. Ruiz is 33 years old and has previously been a coach for Espanyol. He says that he likes offensive football and that Halmstad has a good team. Ruiz will make a deep analysis of the players and talk to everyone before making decisions. He has seen the team this year and thinks it's a good team. Ruiz's contract with HBK is for two years. He says that it will not be easy to leave his family in Spain, but that it is something he must live with. Ruiz replaces the previous coach in HBK and will try to set the organization and create his own philosophy. He says that he does not have any goals, but that you always have to be as good as possible. Ruiz has previously criticized the Swedish model, but now he gets the chance to put his mark on a classic Swedish club. He says that he gets influence from the bottom up and can build the same philosophy throughout the club. Ruiz is one of the youngest coaches in Allsvenskan and has already shown himself to be a skilled coach. He says that he is happy to get the chance to work in Halmstad and that he will do everything to succeed.
